Terms of Use
These Terms govern your use of My Book Haven, provided by DarMy Industries. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. The service is not directed to children under 13. You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your credentials, and activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
The service
My Book Haven provides tools for organizing personal book collections, tracking reading, scanning and importing metadata, syncing and exporting data, receiving recommendations, customizing the app, and participating in optional community features. Features may vary by platform, region, plan, or release.
Your content and library data
You retain ownership of content you submit, including notes, reviews, photos, custom covers, and Cafe messages. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, display, transmit, and back up that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service or fulfill your requests.
You are responsible for having the rights needed to upload or share content. Do not upload unlawful material or content that infringes another person’s rights.
Cafe and acceptable use
When using Cafe or other shared features, do not harass others; post unlawful, threatening, hateful, deceptive, sexually exploitative, or infringing content; expose private information; evade moderation; impersonate others; distribute malware or spam; or interfere with the service. We may remove content, limit features, suspend accounts, or preserve and disclose information when reasonably necessary for safety, enforcement, or legal compliance.
Subscriptions and billing
Optional Plus and Pro subscriptions are sold through Apple or Google. Available products, prices, billing periods, trials, taxes, and renewal dates are shown before purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled through the applicable store account before renewal. Store rules govern payment processing, cancellation timing, and refund eligibility.
When a paid plan ends, paid services may pause, but your existing library records and export access remain available as described in the app. Deleting the app or your My Book Haven account does not automatically cancel a store subscription.
Third-party services and metadata
The service may use or link to third-party authentication, payments, metadata, storage, diagnostics, and AI services. Third-party content may be incomplete or inaccurate, and those providers’ terms and policies apply to their services. Verify important bibliographic information before relying on it.
Changes and availability
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, respond to provider changes, or improve the product. We aim to preserve access to existing records and exports, but uninterrupted or error-free service is not guaranteed.
Intellectual property
My Book Haven’s software, branding, interface, and original materials are owned by DarMy Industries or its licensors. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the app; they do not transfer ownership or permit copying, reverse engineering where prohibited, resale, or misuse of our branding.
Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties that can legally be disclaimed, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, DarMy Industries will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, goodwill, or data, arising from the service. Any limitation applies only to the maximum extent allowed by applicable law.
Termination and account deletion
You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, legal requirements, security threats, or material harm to users or the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new effective date and provide additional notice when legally required. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
